That's how much the generous and caring people who come here have donated so far. YOu people rock! There are still a few donations here and there trickling in and I'm letting them come. We'll get it all to Chala somehow. Probably through some friends who will be coming here in Sept and going back in October.
I think my favorite is the $340 that came from one family with 5 children. Only it wasn't the parents who made the donation. It was each of the kids putting together their own money that they had saved to give away.
Thank-you. Thank-you for opening your hearts, wallets and space on your blogs to help those who are powerless to help themselves. Thank you for taking the time to pause and help children whose only offense was being born an ethnic minority in a country whose government hates them, and hates diversity and independence. A government who works tirelessly it seems to crush all who won't submit to being made slaves. Thanks for taking care of these kids who got caught in the cross fire.
The GH is packing his bags as I write this. They are full of first aid equipment, his water filter, and mosquito repellent. He is heading out into the remotest areas of Thailand and Burma*. He will take your money, and your care to Chala and the kids. He is taking two cameras a video camera and some audio recording equipment as well so I have high hopes that you will all get to see what happens when he brings your gift and to see the kids you have helped.
The kids have said their goodbyes and we'll all see him again in 10 days.
If you pray, please send some up on our behalf for safety, and a profitable time for him as he works on laying the foundations for the Charis Project to grow.
*The GH would like to let you know that he is Certified Awesome by the Worldalogical Association of Dudes. So I'm humoring him.
****I will announce the winners of the contests soon. Right after I squeeze out some time to draw for the winners.
